Between Winter and Spring

I found my love – the one for me –
Between winter and spring.
He’d been waiting at the park for me
But, at first, I did not see.
Near snow-tinged fir trees, he’d sit
On days cold and blustery.
Neath the cover of a storm-lit sky
He’d sit waiting patiently.
Then snow would move to blooms;
And the blooms? They’d fall away.
The summer solstice stopped to visit;
Though just as soon it made its exit.
When autumn leaves came to dance,
They’d last nary half a glance.
The fallen leaves would call to mind
That winter was not far behind.
Although the seasons came and went,
His love for me did not relent.
Then,
One day between winter and spring,
I sensed and saw an opening.
Wasn’t sure but had to find him.
Walked three streets that were winding.
My love was standing in the park.
He smiled as he made this remark:
“Our love has withstood time’s test;
Deeper love’s the manifest.
Though the seasons passed with time,
I knew you were always mine.
I wanted you to bring
Your love back willingly.
I found my love – the one for me –
Between winter and spring.”
